Benjamin Zaslavsky was born in Kiev in 1936.
He studied at the Kiev Art School. After military service, he entered the Kiev Art Institute at the Faculty of Painting. His teachers were Stillman, Kostecki, Zabashta, Pianida, Popov, Basanets, Podderevyansky. From the third year Benjamin studied scenography at the theatre workshop of Professor Duhnovsky.
In 1967, after graduation, he began working at the Kiev State Operetta Theatre as an art director. 1967 to 1991 Zaslavsky Benjamin designed the 40 performances in Kiev Operetta Theater.
Zaslavsky was the art director of 70 performances in theaters of Ukraine, Russia, Poland and Czech.
Also, the artist has always worked in the field of easel painting. His paintings are exhibited at art exhibitions since 1967. More than 10 personal exhibitions were held in Ukraine, Poland, Czech Republic, USA.
