Ivan Tikhiy is a Soviet Ukrainian painter and graphic artist.
Ivan Tikhiy was born on January 10, 1927 in the village Savintsy, Kharkiv region.
In 1953 he graduated from Kyiv Art Institute, where he studied at S. Grigoriev and V. Kostetsky.
He had participated in art exhibitions since 1951.
Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR.
1964 to 1982 he taught at the Kiev Art Institute.
In 1964 Tikhiy was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR.
He worked in the field of easel painting. Tikhiy is the author of landscapes, portraits and themed paintings.
He lived and worked in Kiev, died on June 27, 1982.
The artist's artworks are represented in the Lugansk Art Museum, in other museum and private collections in Ukraine and abroad.
