Mikhail Aleksandvovich Kokin was born in Ekaterinoslav, Ukraine in 1921.
Studied at the School of Fine Arts in Dnepropetrovsk from 1937 to 1941.
Later he went on to study at the Kiev State College of Art under a tutorship of Serguei Grigoriev until 1954.
He was best known for his landscapes and marine paintings. Since 1957 he has been a member of the Union of Artists, Emeritus Painters of Ukraine.
Since 1976 he was a “Renowned Artist of Ukraine” and in 2001 awarded a title of “National Artist of Ukraine”.
Mikhail Alexandrovich has had several solo exhibitions since 1992. His works are kept in the collections of the museum of Ukrainian Art in Kiev and the Fine Arts Museum in Dnepropetrovsk. Many of the Ukrainian galleries are proud to have paintings of Mikhail Aleksandvovich Kokin.
